Meadows Way was a new road built during the redevelopment of the area in the 1970s. It cuts across The Meadows from East to West. The Tram extension towards Beeston/Chilwell will run along its route for some of the way through The Meadows.

The Eastern section included an underpass to allow pedestrians to cross from the end of Arkwright Street to Arkwright Walk. This was filled in during the tram development programme in 2013.
