Nottingham's lesbian and gay newsletters

From the 1970s to the present day

Some of the publications were newsletters specifically focused on one organisation or group, for example "Chimaera" was the newsletter sent out from 1972 to 1982 to all members of Nottingham CHE - the Campaign for Homosexual Equality.

Some publications had a wider distribution, being made available in lesbian and gay venues or by post to anyone who was interested. Nowadays e-mail lists and downloading from websites add to the circulation.

QB a free community newsletter produced by Nottingham Lesbian and Gay Switchboard first appeared in 1998. It now has a print run of 1000 and a further 300 on e-mail lists. It goes way beyond the lesbian and gay community. You will find it in all the City Libraries, the bigger County Libraries, the Playhouse, the Tourism centre, Broadway Cinema as well as on the Nottinghamshire's Rainbow Heritage website.
