Edwalton Church

The Church of the Holy Rood - Designed by Brewill & Baily, 1894.

Pevsner (p.119) identifies the most remarkable feature of this church as the west tower which is of brick (English bond, diagonal buttresses).

The top windows suggest mid 16th century, whilst the south arcade is 14th century.

The chancel - by Brewill & Baily, 1894 -  was built on the foundations of the medieval one (which had fallen down by the 17th century).  It is in harsh red brick, but wit neo-perpendicular north and south windows.
