I would like the truth to be heard about the humber family in nottingham samuel and lucy humber moved from notts to sheffield for work , this is were thomas humber was born ,some years later the family moved back to nottingham. tom married emma  and were,see census 1871 living with two children at 35 Stretton st toms workshop was to the rear 29a Stretton st there is a record ,a newspaper cliping in nottm library quote living at 65 northumberland st ,we should no believe every we read newspapers. humber moved first to work in a long shed in the meadows,emplying 80 hands ,before moving to Beeston. i would not like to sit back and see another legend created.

we should be proud of tomas humber he started his business in st anns at 35 Stretton st with workshop at the rear 29a stretton st  ,in1868. his name was still being put on motor cars in 1967. Humber cars were being raced in 1908 at the i.o.m.  yes i said cars ,and winning,the first motor cycle race on the mountain circuit in 1910 was won on a Humber. the car was from the humber  road beeston factory. you can see a blue plaque on the wall of the beeston factory today, at humber road beeston.this was a real man not a legend . ROBIN HOOD.
