M. Wightman's

Butcher

By Jos Tompkins

This butcher shop was owned by a widow called Mary Wightman who lived at 2 Blidworth Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.  In this photograph, taken in 1904, her son Thomas appears on the right.  The other people pictured are James Gilbert, Jack Thorne, Dorothy Gilbert, Jack Kirkland and May Gilbert.  The premises were situated on the corner of Diamond Avenue and Kingsway and later became the Regent Cinema.

Hi, I am trying to source the picture of the butchers shop used on this page. The print would be for use as artwork to hang in The Regent which was formerly this butcher's shop. I have had no luck with picture the past or the local libraries. Could you help?
