Uniform of a hotel 'Boot Boy', 1930s

Pictured is George W. Coppock, aged 14, when he had just begun work as the Clinton Arms Hotel in the Market Place at Newark as a hotel 'boot boy'. His job was to polish the boots and shoes of those staying at the hotel. The name of the hotel and its insignia can be seen on the jacket collar.
