Telephone Boxes

The original 'K2' call box was designed by distinguished architect Sir Gilbert Scott.

Most boxes which survive today and of the K6 design (also by Scott).  These were also known as the 'Jubilee K6' being designed partly as a celebration of George V's jubilee.

The K6 was put into production in 1936 and spread nationally as part of a scheme whereby every village with a Post Office could have a telephone box.
