Description of event

Join us this October to celebrate all things apple! St Anns Allotments has a rich history of fruit trees. We estimate there are 2,000 fruit trees in gardens around the site including 120 varieties of apple and 50 varieties of pear, with most thought to pre-date the Second World War and many much older still. This open day we will have apple tasting, apple pressing and fresh juice, guided walks of the site, plus kids appley activities at the Community Orchard. Refreshments such as hot soup and cakes plus teas and coffees will be available in the visitor centre.
