Jeremiah Brandreth (1785-1817) from Bulwell, Nottingham moved to Sutton in Ashfield where he was a stock maker, executed (by beheading) for treason after being convicted of plotting to overthrow the UK Government, he and a group that followed him were known as the Pentrich Martyres.
