Captain RN 'HMS Good Hope'

HMS Good Hope, an elderly (pre-dreadnought) battleship launched in 1902 was Admiral Cradock's flagship in 1914. She was lost with all hands - 900 officers and crew - at the Battle of Coronel, November 1st 1914. Captain Franklin is one of the highest-ranking Nottinghamshire men to appear on this site.
