Behind every name there is a story to be told, Fred Bell fought at the
Somme (all six Royal Scots New Army Service Battalions took part in the Somme
offensive) - whilst he survived he is unfortunately one four named on our local
Southwell war memorials who died in 1919. He was one of four
brothers  who serve in WW1, like so many, employed by Carey and Sons prior to
the war and is specifically commemorated on three of our Southwell
memorials.
