Photographs and information

By Valerie Saunders

I was at Trent Bridge Girls' School app. 1950-54.  Classmates were Ann Potts, Mavis Vernon, Valerie Crofts, Joan Strachan, Jill Flowers, Christine Musson; we were about 36 in the class.  The photograph shown is of Ann Potts, Mavis Vernon in the middle, and me on the right.

I am trying to trace photographs of this particular class and of the school itself during the years 1950-54, and would welcome any that members might have to share.

I had my form photograph for many years, but having moved around a bit it has been mislaid, so would particularly like to get hold of a copy of this.

Ann Potts was my best friend at one time, and I think she had two brothers - David and John.

I have very happy memories of St. George's Church.  I took confirmation instruction from Father Nightingale, was confirmed at St. Mary's in the Lace Market, and made my first communion at St. Georges.  I was in the choir for a while.

We had a very tightly-knit Youth Club, run by Brother Joe.  Do you remember Howard Foulds, Brian Harper, the group who were very good at badminton, and the three brothers, one of whom played piano duets with his Father?  My sister, Anne, and I belonged to the Club and everyone looked forward to going there straight after Sunday service.  Happy days, happy youth!!
