Haughton Hall

Located about 1 mile SW of Bothamsall, Guilford (p.95) considered that "In Henry VIII's reigh there was no finer house in Nottinghamshire than Haughton"

When the Earl of Clare inherited Welbeck Abbey, however, he found Welbeck more suited to his needs and Haughton was allowed to fall into disrepair.

Today, concludes Guilford, nothing but a farmhouse marks the site.
